After graduating with a degree in International Relations and Politics I spent 3 years living in Spain where I taught English as a foreign language. On my return to the UK I completed a post graduate diploma in Housing Policy and Management at Newcastle University and spent years working for a Local Authority in areas of Homelessness, Welfare Benefits and Community Co-ordination.
During my years with the Local Authority I was a staff representative and Union steward and during this time I became particularly interested in ensuring the legal rights of individuals were protected.
Since completing the law conversion course at Northumbria University I have worked for 18 years almost exclusively in Criminal law as a defence advocate. I am a qualified court duty solicitor, police station representative and a Solicitor Advocate with higher rights of audience (Crime).
I am very experienced in dealing with the full range of criminal allegations including road traffic offences, serious assaults, public disorder, fraud and dishonesty offences, sexual offences and murder.
Each individual client will have different experiences and backgrounds and I will approach your enquiries sympathetically and patiently giving you appropriate advice to ensure you feel comfortable and confident that the best outcome in your case can be achieved.
