Police Officer Jailed for 25 years

On 13 December 2018 Police Officer Ian Naude, 30, was jailed for 25 years having been found guilty at Liverpool Crown Court of raping a girl who was just 3 weeks past her 13th birthday.

Further details of the conviction can be found by following this link.

Naude was described in Court as a “committed paedophile”.  The prosecutor described Naude as having joined the Police “with the intention of exploiting the access you would gain to vulnerable young girls”.

Naude was further convicted of 4 charges of attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence and one charge of arranging a child sex offence, relating to five complainants between 12 and 15 years old.

He pleaded guilty to 31 offences including inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, misconduct in public office and possessing 1443 indecent images of children including pictures of girls aged as young as 18 months.

It is reported that Naude was already being investigated for sex offences when he was first to be appointed as a Police Officer.  His appointment was delayed due to allegations that he raped a woman.  No further action was taken in the case and Naude was allowed to join Cheshire Constabulary.
