Police Officer charged with racially aggravated grievous bodily harm (GBH)

A Police Officer together with a member of the public have been charged with racially aggravated Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) after a Taxi Driver suffered a broken jaw.

The incident was investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after being referred to them by the Police Officer’s Force, the Metropolitan Police.

The IOPC reported to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).  The CPS decided to charge P.C. Gareth Head and Mr Roden Flame with racially aggravated GBH and an alternative charge of GBH.

The men are due to appear before the Magistrates Court on 10 September 2020.
