Officer charged with grievous bodily harm

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) announced on 16 March 2017 that a serving Metropolitan Police Officer was charged on 16 March 2017 with Grievous Bodily Harm after a man suffered a serious injury during the search of an address in London.

It is reported that P.C. Adrian Daly is due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates Court on 11 April 2017.  It is alleged he assaulted a man during the search on 29 September 2015 causing the man to suffer a collapsed lung.

Separately the IPCC also announced on 16 March 2017 that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has charged another Metropolitan Police Officer.  This Officer has been charged with four offences following a stop and search on 16 September 2016.  It is reported that the incident was filmed and shared widely through both social and mainstream media.  The CPS authorised charges to be brought against P.C. Joshua Savage of common assault, possession of a bladed article, criminal damage and threatening behaviour.
