On 12 April 2019 it was reported a misconduct meeting had been held on 28 November 2018 over allegations that a Northumbria Police Officer, whilst off duty, and during a night out with colleagues, took a Shot Seller’s phone after a disagreement over a bill. The Officer had purchased alcohol from a Shot Seller and there followed a disagreement over the bill. The disagreement resulted in allegations of assault being made by both the Shot Seller and the Police Officer.
The Police were called to the incident. When questioned by the Officers the off duty Police Officer stated they did not have the Shot Seller’s phone.
A disciplinary hearing followed by way of a misconduct meeting. The outcome was the Officer received management advice in relation to the conduct.
