North Yorkshire Police Officer charged with dangerous driving

Following an incident in Harrogate on 5 May 2018 D.C. Quita Passmore has been charged with dangerous driving. This follows a collision when she was the driver of an unmarked Police car responding to an emergency call. It is alleged her car collided with another vehicle seriously injuring two women.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) who oversee Police complaint investigations in England and Wales and on occasion carry out their own independent investigations into Police conduct investigated this matter.  The IOPC completed their investigation in October 2019 and referred the case to the Crown Prosecution Service for a decision on whether to charge D.C. Passmore with an offence of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.  The CPS considered the evidence and decided the Police Officer should be charged with dangerous driving.  D.C. Passmore is due before Leeds Magistrates Court on 18 December 2019.
