MOT due but in self-isolation

Motorists will be concerned if their MOT is due during the current Covid-19 crisis that getting vehicles checked will be very difficult as many garages may be closed and leaving home to attend a garage is in any event contrary to government advice on self-isolation.  The government have now confirmed that MOT dates for cars, motorcycles and light vans will be extended for 6 months for any vehicle requiring an MOT from 30th March, to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

If your vehicle is due for an MOT before 30th March separate guidance has been published and action you need to take will depend on whether you are self-isolating or vulnerable.  The attached link confirms the current government advice.
