More suspensions at Middlesbrough Mental Health Hospital

Three more members of staff have now been suspended from West Lane Hospital in Middlesbrough.  It has been reported that some staff used “non-approved” techniques to move patients.  It is understood the alleged techniques were not in line with the policy of the Trust who operate the Hospital.

One former patient is reported as alleging staff lifted her off her bed by her hands and feet and dropped her onto the floor before restraining her.  She stated she felt like a “caged animal” during her time at the Hospital.
