David Waller, formerly of Cleveland Police, was last week convicted of 10 charges including rape, sexual activity with a child, and misconduct in a public office, between 2004 and 2016.
He had committed some of the offences while serving as an officer with Cleveland Police from 2006 to 2010.
He denied the allegations but was found guilty last week at Teesside Crown Court. He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
Judge Toby Hedworth QC said he had used his position as a police officer to “impress” underage girls and “pursue your interest in girls below the age of consent.”
Speaking after the sentencing, Superintendent Tinkler of Cleveland Police, described David Waller’s actions as “truly appalling” stating “Waller used his position of trust within organisations in order to prey on young vulnerable girls.”
