Heir to Greggs jailed for sex offences

On 3 March 2017 Colin Gregg, 75, from Gosforth, Newcastle was found guilty at Leeds Crown Court for a string of sexual assaults on boys over a period of almost 30 years.

Colin Gregg was once Head Teacher at the Kings Junior School in Tynemouth and also taught at Durham School. It is reported he also worked at one point as a Social Worker in Newcastle. After a month long trial in Leeds Gregg was found guilty by a majority on eight counts of indecently assaulting boys. On the ninth count he was found unanimously guilty by the jury of sexual assault.

On 30 March 2017 Colin Gregg was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court to 13.5 years in Prison.

Hopefully the victims consider at long last justice has been done. The victims may now be considering seeking compensation for their injuries either from Colin Gregg himself or through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).  The CICA is a government scheme which compensates victims of criminal violence.
