Cris McCurley is one of the key note speakers at the 15th Annual Student Human Rights Conference: ‘Mind the Gender Gap: The Rights of Women’.

This year’s conference focuses on women’s rights and Cris will be discussing her work on Forced Marriage’s in the UK.

The conference is student-led and is a collection of passionate postgraduate human rights students, and leading experts, who deliver presentations throughout the day. The conference will be chaired by Professor Dominic McGoldrick and Professor David Harris. Other speakers include Ms Janet Veitch, Professor Siobhan Mullally and a UN Commissioner for CEDAW, Ms Dubravka Simonovic.

Cris is honoured to be involved with this year’s conference, as she is passionate about getting young people involved in women’s rights and CEDAW. She is dedicated to spreading the word about how LASPO discriminates against women in the UK.

The conference will take place at the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre on Saturday 22nd March 2014.
